The Importance of Being Earnest, A Trivial Comedy for Serious People is a play by Oscar Wilde. It is a classic British farcical comedy in which the protagonists maintain fictitious personae to escape burdensome social obligations. This comedy of manners lampoons the excesses and absuridty of the wealthy while telling the romantic story of a most Earnest young man. It is directed by Elsa Ashraf and is being produced by the Saratoga Thespian Troupe.
